Esna su

Explores the issues of identity and memory and how these are shaken in the context of political instability. I envelop my pieces with heritage, as I use traditional Turkish techniques of weaving, twining, needlework and crochet. Yet they mutate into wearable sculptures imbued with a deep sense of meaning.

Damselfrau​

Norwegian artist living in London. a self- taught maker of masks, she dances on the blurry lines of fashion, design and craft 

She has used materials like fine lace, hair from two hundred year old Japanese Geisha hair pieces and everyday stuff found in the streets.

A celebration of the erotically charged dress codes of Nigerians petrol-heads and country's 1970s psychedelic rock scene.

Malick Sidibé 

a celebrated Malian photographer. Working primarily in black and white, his photographs captured lively portraits and scenes of celebration.

His best-known works depict the burgeoning pop culture and nightlife of the Malian capital, prolifically documenting young people and their dress in elegantly posed studio portraits with patterned backdrops, which either match or deliberately clash with the sitters’ outfits and poses.  

Aubrey Beardsley

Beardsley shocked and delighted late-Victorian London with his sinuous black and white drawings. He explored the erotic and the elegant, the humorous and grotesque, winning admirers around the world with his distinctive style.
