Juno birch

I am inspired by the way birch makes his illustrations and sculptures. he creates and illustrates his own characters, brings them to life using sculpture  and then brings them to life further by becoming the characters themselves and in drag . I plan to experiment with illustration and clay and make my own characters based on everything I've been researching (my dna, ethnicity, culture, heritage, etc).

@pastelae and @ EAZY.EEK

a joint collective  of artists. @EAZY.EEK is a sculptor who creates characters using clay.

@Pastelae is a digital artist who takes photographs of the characters and digitally edits them to create a completely  different aesthetic.

 I am interested in their collaborative work  because the original artwork/sculptures have been edited and manipulated to look digital.  so the disparity between the original and the edited version is great

Sis popovy- biography

'We have been making fine art dolls since 2004. And for us this activity has transformed into a special thematic kind of art. Together with fashion it has given us a freedom to express our contemporary and cosmopolitan vision of beauty. We believe that our mission is to tell you a story and  each time it should be a new one allowing to dream and escape into a world of unfettered imagination. Inspired by history and nature we always try to transcend the humdrum and commonplace.'

I really love  how  delicate and detailed theses dolls are, both artists really capture the concept of both human and fantasy in their creations. I plan to use this idea  to start the process of creating my sculptures. the alien quality is something that appeals to me.  they are meticulous in their craftsmanship, in every respect,  including the fashion and styling element. they clearly have a fashion background and influences because these dolls are very fashion driven.

PJ Harper (BIGPIGMALION)

Harper is a Sculpture artist who focuses on capturing black beauty through clay.

i love the way he captures the modern day black woman and man through his making of caricatures. they are very comedic but at the same time, beautiful.
